18 Kidnapped Victims Rescued in Plateau State

Troops of the Three Division Nigerian Army, in collaboration with Operation Safe Haven, have successfully rescued three septuagenarians and 15 other individuals from a kidnappers’ enclave.

The rescue operation took place during an offensive mission along the border between Taraba and Plateau States.

Major Samson Zhakom, Operation Safe Haven’s Information Officer, informed journalists at the operation’s headquarters in Jos that the rescued victims were reunited with their families after undergoing profiling and documentation by the relevant agencies.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of several criminals and the recovery of dangerous weapons, including firearms and ammunition.

In a related development, Troops of Sector Five, operating under Golden Peace Operations, apprehended five bandits at a criminal hideout in Tarangol, located in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. Items recovered from the suspects included fabricated rifles, 7.62mm special rounds, cartridges, and daggers.

Additionally, troops intercepted bandits at Jannaret in Mangu Local Government Area as they attempted to perpetrate violence in the region.

The apprehended suspects will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution, with investigations currently ongoing.
