The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has unveiled a new Concessionary Auto-Gas Framework designed to fast-track the nationwide shift from petrol-powered vehicles to cleaner, more affordable gas-powered mobility solutions.

The initiative is part of the administration’s broader strategy to diversify Nigeria’s energy mix, reduce dependency on petrol, and cushion the effects of subsidy removal by promoting alternative fuel options.

The framework will support local conversion centres, offer incentives for vehicle retrofitting, and enhance access to compressed natural gas (CNG) across the country. This move aligns with President Tinubu’s commitment to sustainable energy transition and economic resilience through innovative policy action.
