Eleven state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have collectively pledged to deliver 15.2 million votes for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
At the forefront of this commitment is the North Central zone, where the APC Forum has promised to deliver six million votes as a mark of appreciation for President Tinubu’s decision to return the party’s national chairmanship to the region.
The commitment followed the appointment of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda from Plateau State as the new APC National Chairman. The six states in the zone are Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau. They declared their united support under the leadership of Saleh Zazzaga, chairman of the forum.
Zazzaga stated, “President Bola Tinubu and the APC should have no concerns about North Central votes in 2027. The region is already in the bag. Our promise to deliver six million votes for the President is guaranteed.”
In the South South, Akwa Ibom APC has set a target of 3.5 million votes, tripling the number secured in the 2023 elections. According to the party’s spokesperson, “At the end of the registration process, we expect no less than 3.5 million votes for President Tinubu’s re-election.”
Similarly, in Edo State, the APC Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae Igbinigie, revealed that Governor Monday Okpebholo has pledged to deliver 2.5 million votes. He added, “A strong membership base will make this target realisable. With mass defection from other parties, our membership is expected to quadruple. The other parties in the state are no longer in existence.”
In Benue State, the APC is targeting five million new members and has committed to securing at least two million votes for the President in the next election. Party spokesman James Orngunga noted, “We will surpass our 2023 margin, which was narrowed by the Muslim Muslim ticket controversy. The President’s support to our people has changed the narrative. He will win with a wide margin.”
In the South West, Oyo and Ekiti chapters have pledged to deliver a combined total of 1.2 million votes.
Olawale Sadare, the spokesperson for Oyo APC, said the state aims to secure over 800,000 votes for Tinubu in 2027, doubling the number recorded in the previous election. “We are aggressively mobilising through door to door, media, and social platforms. Our membership target in Oyo is between 220,000 and 250,000,” he said.
In Ekiti, where Tinubu secured 201,494 votes in 2023, APC spokesperson Segun Dipe said the party is confident of increasing the figure significantly. “We are confident of at least 400,000 votes for the President in 2027. His performance and Governor Oyebanji’s delivery are already speaking for us,” he stated.
