The Federal Government will temporarily open a 47km stretch of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway on Friday, December 12, 2025, to ease traffic along the busy Lekki–Ajah corridor.
The section runs from Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, to Eleko Village junction. An opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Ahmadu Bello Way.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, said the partial opening follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive to make completed portions accessible during the festive season. Full completion of Section 1 and parts of Section 2 is expected by April 2026.
The Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway is one of Nigeria’s largest ongoing infrastructure projects, aimed at improving mobility and boosting economic activity across the southern corridor. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
