The Federal Government has unveiled a comprehensive National Policy on the regulation of non-state schools, aimed at improving the quality of education across Nigeria. The policy, launched under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeks to ensure that private and non-governmental educational institutions operate in line with national standards and contribute meaningfully to the country’s educational development.
This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of education reform. The policy sets out clear guidelines for licensing, monitoring, and evaluating private schools, while also encouraging inclusive access to quality learning for all children, regardless of background or location.
Stakeholders across the education sector have praised the initiative, noting that it will help bridge disparities in education delivery and ensure that all learning institutions are held accountable to the same standards of excellence envisioned by the Tinubu administration.
