Galatasaray have generated €4.2 million in just days from pre-orders of their special Victor Osimhen collector’s boxes, following 20,000 sales at 9,999 Turkish Lira each.
The Turkish champions financed and produced the “Solo Il Gala” boxes entirely in-house, capitalising on the excitement surrounding the 26-year-old Nigerian striker’s €75 million permanent move from Napoli. All proceeds go directly to the club via their GS Store platform, with the current total translating to around 200 million Turkish Lira.
Each box features a uniquely designed, serial-numbered Osimhen jersey with a QR code unlocking exclusive digital content, an elastomer Osimhen mask with five stars printed on the front, and a “Solo Il Gala” scarf. The club plans to release 100,000 units in total, targeting €21.5 million if sold out — a sum that could largely fund Osimhen’s €15 million-per-season wages.
“This jersey in the box is not my jersey, it is all of ours,” Osimhen said in a personal message to fans. “Every time you wear it, remember our history, remember us.”
The move forms part of Galatasaray’s aggressive merchandising strategy, which brought in €85 million from shirt sales last season. Commercial revenues are projected at €150 million this year, far outpacing domestic TV rights worth just €18 million.
Club president Dursun Özbek hailed supporters as “our biggest investors” and urged them to keep filling the stands. Osimhen scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 games during his loan spell last season, sealing his status as a fan favourite before making his move permanent.
