The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced the immediate withdrawal, suspension, or cancellation of 101 pharmaceutical products across the country. The regulatory body said the decision was taken in line with its mandate to safeguard public health and ensure that only safe, effective, and high-quality medicines are available in the Nigerian market.

According to NAFDAC, the affected products failed to meet required standards due to issues ranging from poor manufacturing practices to safety concerns and non-compliance with approved regulations. The agency has directed all pharmaceutical outlets, distributors, and healthcare providers to immediately halt the sale and distribution of the listed medicines.

The regulator further warned that defaulters who continue to stock or dispense the suspended products risk severe sanctions. NAFDAC also assured Nigerians of its commitment to strengthening surveillance and enforcement measures to protect consumers from unsafe or substandard medicines.
