The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is set to revolutionize road safety and vehicle management with the launch of the digital Central Motor Registry Information System (e-CMR). The new system aims to eliminate the need for physical document checks by equipping officers with real-time verification technology.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the e-CMR will streamline vehicle documentation checks. “Inspector-General Egbetokun is revolutionizing how we keep our roads safe with the new E-CMR system! Now, no more stopping to check papers—our officers are equipped with cutting-edge tech to verify documents in real-time,” he announced.
With the introduction of the e-CMR, vehicle owners will no longer need to carry physical documents. Instead, all vehicle information will be accessible digitally, making the process quicker, easier, and more secure.
In the event of a vehicle theft, registered users can flag their vehicle as stolen through their online profile, instantly alerting officers nationwide. “All field officers will be alerted within seconds. Let’s make our roads safer together,” Adejobi added.
The NPF’s e-CMR system is part of broader efforts to modernize policing and enhance road safety across the country, reflecting the force’s commitment to leveraging technology for better public service delivery.
