Vice President Kashim Shettima has backed a proposal by Schoolnet India Ltd and Learnet Skills Ltd to introduce KYAN Smart Class Solutions in classrooms across Nigeria. He said the initiative fits the government’s drive to modernise basic education through technology that can improve teaching standards and learning outcomes for children nationwide.

The Vice President urged the technology providers to work closely with federal officials to adapt the system to Nigeria’s environment. He stressed the need for local curriculum integration, language adjustment and a model suited to both urban and rural schools. Shettima also referenced similar digital school projects in Edo and Enugu, noting that merging such local efforts with KYAN would create a more impactful national solution.

Schoolnet’s CEO, Mr RCM Reddy, assured that the company will design a Nigerian-focused version of the all-in-one device, which includes a projector, computer, smart board features and preloaded content for Grades 1 to 10. He noted that the tool can function with or without internet connectivity, making it ideal for remote areas, and emphasised its potential to elevate teacher performance across the country.
