Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has been honoured with her 11th traditional title in Igboland. The title was conferred during the prestigious Igu Aro Cultural Festival by His Majesty Obi Austin Chukwuezugo Ndigwe (MON).

The festival, a celebration of Igbo culture, featured traditional displays, music, dancers, masquerades, and other cultural performances, drawing a large crowd and attracting dignitaries from across the region.

Mrs Odumegwu-Ojukwu was bestowed the chieftaincy title ‘ANYANWU N’AWALU ORA’, which translates as “The Light of the Community.” In Igbo traditional religion, Odinala, ANYANWU represents the Sun Goddess, a deity associated with light, good fortune, knowledge, and wisdom.

In addition to the chieftaincy title, she was presented with the ceremonial key to the Ancient Kingdom.

Expressing her gratitude, Mrs Odumegwu-Ojukwu thanked His Majesty, the kingmakers, the youths, and the people of Awka Ancient Kingdom for the honour. She described the recognition and respect shown to her as a reflection of the goodwill of the people of Igboland, Nigeria, and humanity at large.
