Abba Moro Affirms Loyalty to PDP Amid Defections

Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has reiterated his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting he has no plans to defect despite recent departures from the opposition party.

Moro made the declaration on Wednesday during a consultative meeting with the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), led by National Chairman Kabiru Turaki.

Noting the party has witnessed a series of defections since the beginning of the year, Moro stressed that he and other loyal members are not “poor or desperate politicians” who would abandon the party due to intimidation or political pressure.

“I want to inform you, Mr Chairman, that many of us here are not poor or desperate politicians. We are in PDP to stay. We are not in PDP for the sake of using the platform to win elections, and certainly not fixated on the 2027 elections. So, no amount of intimidating scenarios will push us out of PDP,” he said.
