The Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) has praised the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for what it describes as “two years of unprecedented progress” across key sectors in the state. The commendation comes as the governor marks his second anniversary in office, with wide-ranging reforms and initiatives that have earned him national acclaim.
In a statement signed by its National President, Dunijir Gatama, ACYLF said Governor Sani’s administration has “redefined governance in Kaduna State” through strategic investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
“Governor Uba Sani has governed with vision and compassion. His achievements serve as a blueprint for other leaders across Northern Nigeria and beyond,” the group said.
Education as a Cornerstone
According to ACYLF, Governor Sani has made education a cornerstone of his development agenda, citing the construction of 62 new secondary schools and the ongoing establishment of three vocational and technological skills acquisition cities. His administration also convened the Kaduna Education Summit, with a target of returning 300,000 out-of-school children back to the classroom.
ACYLF also commended partnerships with UNICEF, the British Government, and other international organizations aimed at enhancing the state’s educational outcomes.
Health and Human Services
On the health front, Governor Sani’s government has improved access to quality healthcare by revitalizing primary health centers, launching free medical outreach programs, and working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO). These efforts, ACYLF noted, have significantly reduced maternal and infant mortality rates in rural areas.
Infrastructure and Economic Development
Kaduna State has seen the execution of 68 road projects covering over 700 kilometers, including the revival of the Kaduna Light Rail Project and completion of long-abandoned roads in rural communities.
In terms of economic empowerment, ACYLF highlighted the support of over 8,000 small and micro businesses through the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA), and the implementation of grants ranging from N50,000 to N300,000 for entrepreneurs, particularly youth and women.
Enhancing Security and Agriculture
The Forum also recognized Governor Sani’s efforts in improving security through close collaboration with traditional rulers and security agencies, which has reportedly led to a significant reduction in kidnappings and banditry across the state.
In agriculture, the distribution of free fertilizers and inputs to 100,000 farmers, as well as the promotion of modern farming techniques, has helped boost food production and rural livelihoods.
A New Standard for Leadership
ACYLF concluded that Governor Sani’s administration has laid a strong foundation for sustainable development and peacebuilding in Kaduna.
“His leadership reflects a deep commitment to inclusive governance—irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences. Kaduna is on a new path of progress,” the statement added.
As Kaduna State continues on this trajectory, ACYLF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting visionary leaders who prioritize equity, development, and the common good.
