The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged that its derecognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is part of a plot to prevent the party from fielding candidates in the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, claimed that INEC’s actions, including the refusal to receive official correspondence from the ADC, are aimed at creating administrative obstacles that could exclude it from the electoral process.
He further expressed concern that such measures could undermine democratic participation, insisting that the party remains committed to engaging with relevant authorities to address the situation.
