ADEOTI DUMPS AREGEBESOLA, ADC OVER ALLEGED PLAN TO CEDE GUBER TICKET TO EX-SPEAKER

Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, a prominent member of the Aregbesola-aligned Omoluabi Caucus and leading figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State, has withdrawn from the group and the party over an alleged plan to hand the 2026 governorship ticket to a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

Adeoti, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), reportedly took the decision after insiders revealed ongoing negotiations to cede the ADC governorship ticket to the ex-speaker as part of a political alignment ahead of the next election cycle.

According to sources familiar with the development, Adeoti viewed the move as a betrayal of earlier assurances that the party’s ticket would be determined through a transparent, competitive process. His supporters have also expressed concerns that the alleged arrangement undermines internal democracy and sidelines long-standing loyalists.

The latest development marks a fresh crack within the Aregbesola political family, which has been grappling with internal disagreements since the 2022 governorship election. Political observers say Adeoti’s exit may further weaken the faction and alter permutations ahead of 2026.

Neither the ADC leadership nor the former Speaker has officially responded to the allegations as of press time.
