The 12,700-capacity Kilamba Arena in Luanda was packed to the brim on Sunday as Angola reclaimed their AfroBasket crown with a dominant 70–43 win over Mali. The victory handed the hosts their first continental title since 2013.
Angola controlled the game from tip-off, stretching their lead to over 20 points in the third quarter as jubilant fans celebrated with a Mexican wave, leaving Mali with no way back.
Childe Dudao led the champions with 16 points, drawing MVP chants in the fourth quarter, while Selton Miguel added 12. For Mali, Siriman Kanoute scored 14 points and Aliou Diarra contributed 11.
The triumph capped a flawless 6-0 campaign for Angola, while Mali, reaching their first-ever AfroBasket final, finished with a 4-3 record. Notably, Mali’s 43 points marked the lowest tally in an AfroBasket game in the past 30 years.
