
Twelve days after the burial of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, his wife, Aisha Buhari, and their children have returned to their residence in Kaduna. The family arrived at the Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna from Daura on Sunday and were received by Kaduna State Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe. Also present were the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Munira Tanimu, and other senior government officials.
The reception was characterized by a show of respect and solidarity, as officials welcomed the former First Lady and her family back to Kaduna. The state government described the visit as a moment of reflection on the former President’s legacy and enduring contributions to Nigeria’s development. Deputy Governor Balarabe led the entourage in escorting Mrs. Buhari to her residence in Ungwan Rimi GRA, located in the Kaduna State capital.
President Muhammadu Buhari passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82, in a London hospital. He was buried two days later, on July 15, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in line with Islamic funeral rites. His death marked the end of an era in Nigerian politics, prompting nationwide tributes and condolences.
