The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, of posing a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy.

Amaewhule alleged that allowing the governor and his deputy to remain in office could endanger democratic governance in the state, expressing concern over what he described as their actions and conduct in public office.

He further accused the duo of moving from place to place and spending taxpayers’ money without the approval of the House of Assembly, an action he said undermines due process and legislative oversight.

The Speaker’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, as disagreements between the executive and the legislature continue to generate controversy and public debate.
