All Progressives Congress (APC) state governors have expressed full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in tackling insecurity across Nigeria. The governors reaffirmed their commitment during a meeting with the President, emphasizing the need to complement federal efforts with robust community-based security initiatives.
The APC governors said they would work to enhance local vigilante groups, strengthen neighborhood security networks, and promote collaboration between communities and law enforcement agencies. According to the governors, involving citizens directly in security management will not only prevent crime but also improve trust between residents and security personnel.
President Tinubu commended the governors for their proactive stance and urged them to prioritize community-driven strategies, stressing that national security is a shared responsibility between the federal government, state administrations, and local communities.
The meeting comes as part of ongoing consultations between the presidency and state executives to curb rising crime rates and ensure citizens feel safe across urban and rural areas.
