The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has expressed optimism that the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise will exceed nine million registered members within two weeks of its launch.

The National Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Basiru, disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists on behalf of the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda. He revealed that more than two million Nigerians have already completed their registration within the first week of the exercise.

Basiru said the rapid turnout reflects growing public interest in the ruling party and underscores the effectiveness of the digital registration platform. According to him, the initiative is designed to strengthen internal party operations through accurate and verifiable membership data.

“We are happy to inform Nigerians that just one week into the exercise, those who have registered as members of the APC are already over two million,” he said. “We envisage that by the time we make another assessment next week, we should have between eight and nine million registered members.”

The National Secretary further warned that states lagging behind in the registration process would face corrective measures, noting that the National Working Committee has been empowered to replace coordinators in underperforming states to ensure the success of the exercise.

The APC e-registration drive is part of broader efforts by the party to modernize its structures, enhance transparency, and improve planning ahead of future political activities and elections.
