The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the temporary closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja as a mark of respect for the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away on Sunday in London.

In a statement released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, said the decision was taken under the directive of the Acting National Chairman, Hon. Bukar Dalori.

According to the statement, the National Secretariat, located at Buhari House on Blantyre Street in Abuja, will remain closed from Monday, July 14, and will reopen on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

“This gesture reflects our deep sorrow and enduring respect for a man whose legacy of discipline, patriotism, and commitment to national service will never be forgotten,” the statement noted.

The Party also called on its members and Nigerians at large to observe this period with quiet reflection and prayers for the peaceful repose of the late leader’s soul.

President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria as both a military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President. His contributions to the country’s unity and governance left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s political history.

Further tributes and activities in honour of the late statesman are expected in the coming days.
