The Southwest Zonal Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to reject the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its coalition of opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking after a zonal meeting in Akure, APC Southwest Zonal Chairman Isaacs Kekemeke said the coalition is made up of politicians who have previously held power but left no meaningful achievements behind. He noted that these figures have been tested and found wanting, with a record that offers no hope for the nation’s future.

Kekemeke described the ADC coalition as incapable of defeating what he called the coalition of the Nigerian people who, he said, recognise that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is laying the foundations for national greatness. He warned that it would be unwise for Nigerians to abandon a leader who is actively setting the country on the right path in favour of those with a history of failure.

“These are people who have consistently failed in positions of responsibility both in the distant and recent past,” he said. “They have not accredited themselves credibly in any area they were entrusted with, and they have nothing to show for their time in office.”
