Tomato farmers are predicting a surge in supply as the yuletide season approaches, offering hope for consumers facing high prices. Many farms are nearing harvest, while others have yet to begin, ensuring continued availability.

Prices have already started dropping. In northern Nigeria, a 50 kg basket has fallen from ₦40,000–₦60,000 to around ₦15,000–₦16,000. In Lagos, baskets now sell for ₦40,000–₦50,000, down from ₦80,000–₦100,000.

The downward trend is expected to continue, making tomatoes more affordable during the festive season. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
