Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new three-year contract with the club, extending his tenure until 2027.
Originally set to be out of contract at the end of the current season, Arteta’s new deal ensures he will remain at the helm through 2027.
Appointed in December 2019 to replace Unai Emery, Arteta had been working as a coach under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He secured his first major trophy as a manager with Arsenal’s FA Cup victory at the end of the 2019-2020 season.
Under Arteta, Arsenal has finished as Premier League runners-up to Manchester City for the past two seasons. The 42-year-old is working to guide the club to their first top-flight title since the 2003-04 season.
As a former midfielder, Arteta made 150 appearances and captained Arsenal during his playing career.
