
The Accelerated Stabilisation and Advancement Plan (ASAP) initiative, aimed at boosting economic growth in Nigeria, has officially commenced. The initiative, led by Finance Minister Mr. Wale Edun, focuses on fostering inter-ministerial collaboration to meet the economic goals set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Key ministers participated in the inauguration of the ASAP body, highlighting its significance. Among those in attendance were Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Prof Muhammad Ali Pate, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo, and Director-General of the Budget Office Tanimu Yakubu.
Mr. Edun explained that the ASAP initiative is structured to drive sustainable development across eight critical sectors, with a focus on agriculture, energy, and health. “The committee, chaired by myself, will oversee the implementation of the plan, ensuring that each priority area receives the attention and resources it requires,” Edun stated.
The collaborative efforts of various government agencies and stakeholders are expected to propel progress, delivering tangible benefits to the Nigerian economy and its citizens. With the ASAP implementation committee now operational, Nigeria stands ready to experience significant advancements in its economic landscape.
