Atalanta Set Firm Price for Lookman Amid Interest from Top European Clubs

Atalanta have made it clear that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman will only depart the club this summer if a compelling offer meets their valuation, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to Italian outlet Le Bombe di Vlad, the Serie A side are open to selling the 2024 African Footballer of the Year but have set a hefty price tag of €45m to €50m. Any bids falling below that threshold will not be entertained.

“Atalanta have drawn a firm line—Lookman will only leave Zingonia if a substantial offer is received, well above €30m,” the report stated. “The valuation is justified by his consistent top-level performances, particularly in high-stakes matches.”

Despite strong interest from a host of Europe’s biggest clubs—including Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Juventus, and Barcelona—none have yet met Atalanta’s demands. Barcelona reportedly made an initial approach but fell short of expectations. Arsenal, actively seeking a winger, have rekindled their interest in the former RB Leipzig player, while Napoli and Juventus continue to closely monitor the situation.

Atalanta, however, remain firm in their position. The club are under no financial pressure to sell and view Lookman as integral to their project under newly appointed manager Ivan Jurić. The Nigerian international has two years remaining on his contract and has not requested a move away.

“The club is in no rush and considers Lookman a central part of its plans,” Le Bombe di Vlad added. “While the player is focused on Atalanta, interest from a top European side could prompt him to weigh a new opportunity.”

Lookman has been a standout performer since arriving in Bergamo in 2022, tallying 55 goals and 25 assists in all competitions. His most memorable contribution came in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, where he netted a hat-trick to lead Atalanta to a historic European triumph.

In the 2024/25 season alone, he contributed 20 goals and seven assists—numbers that statistically place him ahead of other transfer targets like Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, both of whom are also on Arsenal’s radar. However, sources suggest Lookman remains third on the Gunners’ list of priorities for wide attacking options.

Though Atalanta are reportedly lining up a replacement, club executives have no intention of lowering their asking price. As Le Bombe di Vlad concluded, “Lookman’s sale is only being considered as an extraordinary scenario. Any club keen on securing his services must present an offer that removes all doubt.”
