The High Court of Bayelsa State in Yenagoa has issued an interim injunction stopping allies of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, from holding a planned mega rally in the state.

The rally, originally scheduled for April 12, 2025, in Yenagoa, was halted following an ex-parte motion filed by Bayelsa’s Attorney General, Biriyai Dambo (SAN), under Suit No. BYHC/YHC/CV/133/2025.

Justice I.A. Uzakah granted the order, restraining the defendants and their associates from organizing or participating in any political gathering intended to show solidarity with or celebrate the Minister.

The court emphasized that the restriction will remain in effect pending the hearing and determination of a motion for an interlocutory injunction. The matter has been adjourned to April 11, 2025, for further proceedings.
