Former Big Brother Naija star and media personality Anto Lecky has been appointed Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Creative Economy to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo. The appointment marks a new chapter in Anto’s public service journey, which she described as both humbling and timely.
Announcing the news via her Instagram page on Monday, Anto expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve her home state once again. Dressed in traditional Etsako attire, she highlighted Edo’s cultural heritage and its growing relevance in global tourism, particularly with the return of the Benin Bronzes and the development of new museums.
“With the return of many stolen Benin Bronzes, soon-to-be opened museums, and an ever-growing entertainment industry, there is no better time for Edo State to be on the forefront of tourism and the creative economy,” she said.
Anto also extended an open invitation to local and international stakeholders to explore Edo State as a destination for culture, tourism, and investment. Proudly embracing her Etsako roots, she explained the cultural symbolism behind her outfit, noting its significance in representing power, heritage, and identity.
