The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has revealed that he encouraged the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the governor as someone who naturally aligned with the party.

Kalu explained that his encouragement was based on the belief that Otti’s entry into the APC would create broader political opportunities and open more doors for Abia State, particularly in terms of access to federal support and collaboration.

He added that strengthening political alignment with the ruling party at the centre would enhance development prospects and improve governance outcomes for the people of Abia State.
