The Honourable Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, met with the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, to accelerate the deployment of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF)—a pivotal move to strengthen Nigeria’s maritime industry and empower indigenous shipping companies.

The discussions focused on unlocking much-needed financing for local shipowners, reinforcing the government’s commitment to expanding coastal trade, creating jobs, and enhancing Nigeria’s presence in the global shipping sector.

Stakeholders emphasized the need for strategic collaboration to ensure the efficient utilization of the CVFF, positioning Nigeria’s maritime sector for long-term growth and sustainability.
