In a decisive move to strengthen Nigeria’s economic framework, the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the Equipment Leasing Regulatory Agency (ELRA) have entered into a strategic partnership to advance reforms that will drive national development.
The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), underscores both agencies’ commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes transparency, efficiency, and inclusive economic growth.
Speaking at the signing event, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, Director-General of BPP, described the collaboration as a major milestone in reforming Nigeria’s procurement and regulatory landscape. According to him, the initiative will enhance synergy across public institutions, improve procurement standards, and promote optimal resource utilization for the benefit of citizens and investors alike.
Dr. Adedokun emphasized that the partnership reflects the government’s determination to minimize wastage, deepen institutional capacity, and create a conducive environment for sustainable economic development.
On his part, Mr. Donald Wokoma, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of ELRA, expressed confidence that the partnership would amplify the impact of equipment leasing in national economic planning. He noted that the collaboration would give stronger visibility to ELRA’s policies, fostering innovation and accountability across sectors.
Both agencies reaffirmed their readiness to jointly implement reforms that will streamline processes, attract investments, and deliver measurable results in line with Nigeria’s development priorities.
The BPP–ELRA partnership signals a renewed era of cooperation between key public institutions, designed to reinforce good governance, transparency, and economic transformation across the country.
