Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin, who represents Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, has formally resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Jibrin, a prominent figure within the NNPP and one of its influential voices in Kano politics, announced his decision to part ways with the party after months of speculation about his political future. His resignation marks a significant development in Kano’s political landscape, where the NNPP has been a dominant force since the 2023 elections.
While the lawmaker has not yet disclosed his next political move, sources close to him suggest that he may be aligning with another major political party ahead of the 2027 elections. His exit is expected to trigger fresh realignments in the state’s political scene.
