The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that it will be embarking on strike action, urging both students and parents to brace up for the disruption.
ASUU leaders disclosed that the decision followed the Federal Government’s alleged failure to meet long-standing demands, including improved funding for universities, better welfare packages for lecturers, and full implementation of agreements previously signed.
The union said the strike was inevitable, stressing that it had exhausted all avenues of dialogue. Students across public universities are now expected to be affected, as academic activities may be suspended nationwide.
