BREAKING: Court Rules Against Nnamdi Kanu on Fair-Hearing Claim as Judgment Continues

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, is currently delivering judgment in the long-running terrorism case involving the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a major ruling delivered moments ago, the court held that Kanu was given a fair hearing, dismissing his objections on alleged bias and procedural unfairness. Justice Omotosho stated that the court “ensured all parties were granted adequate opportunity to present their cases,” noting that the defence could not substantiate claims of unfair treatment.

On the issue of alleged illegal rendition from Kenya, the court ruled that extradition procedures operate strictly among countries that are signatories to extradition treaties. Justice Omotosho held that the defence failed to show that the matter fell within the scope that would invalidate the charges before the court.

The judgment is ongoing, and more rulings on Kanu’s motions and the substantive terrorism charges are expected shortly.
