Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has opposed the decision to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Fintiri faulted the move shortly after the party announced Wike’s expulsion, insisting that he does not support any action capable of deepening internal divisions within the PDP. He stressed that the party must prioritise reconciliation, unity, and collective progress rather than punitive measures that could escalate tensions.
Wike’s expulsion has stirred reactions across the political landscape, coming at a time when the PDP is facing renewed internal restructuring and leadership disagreements. Fintiri’s position adds a significant twist, as he remains one of the party’s influential voices in the North-East.
More details are expected as the PDP continues deliberations on the matter.
