The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed that all mobile phones must be completely switched off during aircraft take-off and landing.

Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, announced the decision in a post on X on Tuesday, noting that regulations on electronic devices in Nigeria have now been unified.

The directive follows an emergency meeting with aviation stakeholders earlier in the day, aimed at strengthening passenger safety and ensuring compliance with global standards.
