The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an interim order stopping activist Omoyele Sowore and others from proceeding with the planned protest demanding the release of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

The protest, originally scheduled to take place in front of Aso Rock and other strategic locations in the Federal Capital Territory, was halted following a court application citing potential threats to public peace and national security.

Justice of the Federal High Court granted the temporary injunction pending further hearing, effectively barring Sowore and his associates from staging demonstrations connected to the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement. The ruling adds a new twist to growing tensions surrounding the continued detention of Kanu, as activists vow to continue their advocacy through legal and peaceful means.
