BREAKING: Super Falcons Return Home After Historic 10th WAFCON Victory

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have arrived in Abuja to a hero’s welcome following their triumphant victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where they secured a record-extending 10th continental title.

The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at approximately 2:26 p.m. on Monday aboard a chartered flight from Rabat. Awaiting their arrival were top government officials and sports dignitaries, gathered to celebrate the team’s remarkable achievement.

In a video shared via X (formerly Twitter), dignitaries including the Governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani; Governor of Kwara, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma were seen at the airport, joined by several federal ministers and officials from the Ministry of Sports. The Super Falcons defeated host nation Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in a thrilling final over the weekend, once again affirming Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
