Brekete Radio’s Ahmed Isah to Appear Before Senate

Ahmed Isah, widely known as the “Ordinary President” and host of the popular Brekete Family show on Human Rights Radio and Television, has confirmed that he has been summoned to appear before the Senate.

Speaking in a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP on Monday, Isah acknowledged the summons but clarified that it was being misrepresented.

“It’s true, but not the way it is being misrepresented. On Wednesday, you will know why the National Assembly is asking me to come,” he stated.

Reports suggest the summons may be linked to a recent Brekete Family broadcast, during which Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan aired grievances against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

During the live show on Friday, February 21, Isah attempted to call both Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Akpabio. While Akpoti-Uduaghan answered and alleged that the Senate leadership was victimizing her, Akpabio declined the call three times.

The exact reason behind the summons remains unclear, but the situation has sparked widespread public interest, with many anticipating further revelations when Isah appears before the Senate on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has criticized the Senate’s decision to summon Isah, calling it unnecessary.

“Inviting Ahmed Isah, the CEO of Brekete Radio, to the Senate is unnecessary and demeaning,” Sani stated.
