BUA Cement Declares Final Dividend of ₦2.05 Per Share

BUA Cement Plc has announced a final dividend of N2.05 per ordinary share of 50 Kobo for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.

In a statement released on Monday via the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), the company confirmed that the dividend would be payable to shareholders registered as of the close of business on August 8, 2025. The announcement was signed by Hauwa Satomi, the company secretary.

The dividend distribution will be processed electronically on August 28, 2025, for shareholders who have completed their e-dividend registration and authorized the company’s registrar to deposit their payments directly into their bank accounts.

Unregistered shareholders were encouraged to complete their E-Dividend Mandate Activation Form, which is available on the registrar’s website. Africa Prudential Plc serves as the registrar overseeing the payment process.

Financial Performance for 2024

BUA Cement reported N99.63 billion in profit before tax for FY 2024, reflecting a 48.20% year-on-year (YoY) increase from 2023.

The company’s full-year revenue surged 90.54% YoY to N876.4 billion, driven largely by strong domestic demand in its bagged cement segment. However, the cost of sales also rose significantly, climbing 108.74% YoY to N576.2 billion.

Despite increased costs, operating profit reached N144 billion, showcasing resilience in core operations and reflecting relative stability in the operating profit margin.

Total assets grew 29.17% to N1.57 trillion, while shareholders’ funds recorded a modest 0.86% increase.

As of the market close on March 3, 2025, BUA Cement’s shares traded at N93, a decline from their peak of N185 in January 2024.

  • The final dividend applies exclusively to shareholders listed in the Register of Members as of August 8, 2025.
  • The Register of Shareholders will be closed from August 11 to August 15, 2025 (both days inclusive).
