The government stressed that easing travel restrictions is critical to boosting trade, tourism, and cooperation within Africa.
The decision has been welcomed by regional observers as a bold step toward advancing the vision of a borderless Africa. It aligns with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to create a unified market for goods and services and enhance intra-African mobility.
