The Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Ishaq Hussaini Magaji (SAN), has emphasized the importance of regular staff training in enhancing productivity and service delivery within the organization. He made this statement during the 2024 Management Retreat held in Jos on Thursday, themed “Repositioning the Corporate Affairs Commission for Enhanced Service Delivery.”

Magaji stressed that continuous training helps shape staff attitudes toward work, allowing organizations like CAC to reinvent themselves to meet both current and future customer needs. “A learning organization such as ours is always ready and willing to meet not only the present needs of the customer but also anticipate future demands to ensure that our structures and processes remain relevant,” Magaji said.

The Registrar-General underscored that the retreat’s theme was timely, noting that excellence is a journey that requires regular evaluation. “Retreat as a management tool helps an organization to evaluate where it is coming from, where it is at the moment, and where it wants to go,” he stated, highlighting the retreat’s focus on assessing the organization’s progress and future trajectory.

Since assuming office in October 2023, Magaji has introduced several policy initiatives aimed at improving the CAC’s operations. These include fostering industrial harmony, formalizing fintech operations, enhancing capital levels, and introducing remote work and special reward systems. He also highlighted the stabilization of the company registration portal and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) as key advancements.

These initiatives have resulted in the CAC achieving 100% of its budgetary projection for 2023. According to Magaji, this success has encouraged the commission to plan even more ambitious budgets for 2024 and 2025. However, he cautioned that while the CAC’s current position provides a level of comfort, it does not guarantee future success.

“The world has changed, and so have the dynamics of operations,” Magaji noted, stressing that the CAC must continue evolving to realize its long-term vision.
