The Nigerian Army has intensified security operations in Taraba State following a series of violent attacks on local farmers, which disrupted agricultural activities and forced many residents to flee their communities.
The directive was issued by the 6 Brigade, led by Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, who stressed the importance of protecting civilians and restoring stability in the affected areas. Troops have been deployed to Takum Local Government Area and other hotspots, patrolling farmlands, access routes, and local markets.
Brig. Gen. Uwa warned criminal elements that the military would not tolerate attacks on farmers and assured residents that measures were in place to safeguard their lives and livelihoods.
In addition to security patrols, the army has conducted civil-military outreach programs to reassure displaced communities and encourage cooperation with security forces. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
These measures come amid growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Taraba State, which has disrupted farming and local commerce in recent months. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
