Cardoso Hosts British International Investment to Deepen Financial Sector Reforms

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has hosted a delegation from British International Investment (BII) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s financial sector and attract sustainable foreign investment.

The delegation was led by BII Chair, Ms. Diana Layfield, and included the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Richard Montgomery. The engagement focused on reinforcing collaboration aimed at mobilising long-term capital and supporting Nigeria’s economic reform agenda.

During the meeting, Governor Cardoso reaffirmed the CBN’s commitment to macroeconomic stability, credible monetary policy, and a transparent, data-driven regulatory framework. He noted that these measures are essential to strengthening the banking system, improving financial intermediation, and boosting investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.
