The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially unveiled its newly redesigned website, signaling a major step toward improving public engagement, transparency, and accessibility. The announcement was made today in a statement signed by the acting Director of Corporate Communications, Sidi Ali, who confirmed that the platform is now live and operational.

The new website, built in-house using Microsoft .NET Core 8, is equipped with a modern Web API to enhance navigation speed and usability. “We are pleased to announce that the front-end design and back-end technology were created in-house,” Ali stated. “This redesigned platform introduces a variety of new content, providing broader and more detailed information about the Bank’s mandate. The website is also fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across mobile devices and various browsers.”

The launch follows the announcement made by CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso at the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit in October, where he emphasized the bank’s commitment to boosting transparency and accountability. Speaking at a summit dinner event, Cardoso had disclosed that the revamped website would provide stakeholders with improved access to information and a user-friendly interface.

“Information is something that we are ensuring to improve on at the Central Bank,” Cardoso noted. “We are bringing out activities that are closer to the people. Our aim is to provide a clear line of sight on our goals and progress, fostering trust and understanding.”

He further highlighted the significance of the overhaul: “Our website is about to be significantly overhauled. This marks another milestone in our journey toward transparency and openness.”

The new website aligns with the CBN’s broader efforts to modernize its operations and foster closer engagement with the Nigerian public. It is expected to serve as a key resource for financial education, policy updates, and real-time data on the country’s monetary activities.

With the launch, the CBN has reaffirmed its dedication to leveraging technology to enhance accessibility and maintain its role as a trusted financial institution in Nigeria.
