Chelsea will be chasing a first win at Old Trafford since 2013 when they take on Manchester United in Saturday’s Premier League showdown. Enzo Maresca’s side head into the fixture on the back of a 2-2 draw with Brentford and a 3-1 midweek defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, making this their third consecutive away match.

Ruben Amorim’s United are desperate for a response after a 3-0 loss to Manchester City left them languishing in 14th place. Despite their poor run, Maresca downplayed suggestions that this was the perfect time to face the Red Devils, insisting Old Trafford always presents a difficult challenge regardless of form. He also defended United’s recent performances, highlighting chances they created even in defeat.

One of the game’s major talking points will be Alejandro Garnacho, who swapped United for Chelsea in the summer. The 21-year-old could start against his former club, with Maresca confirming the winger is “ready to start” after impressing in recent outings. Kick-off is at 5.30pm UK time on Saturday at Old Trafford.
