Ada Hegerberg — the all-time top scorer in UEFA club competitions — added another to her remarkable tally, now standing at 67 goals in 77 appearances across 12 seasons in the tournament.
Wolfsburg, twice European champions, edged Norway’s Vålerenga 2-1. Lineth Beerensteyn gave the Germans an early lead, cancelled out by Sara Horte, before Janina Minge calmly converted an extra-time penalty to secure the win.
In Belgium, Leuven pulled off late heroics to beat Twente 2-1. After Linde Veefkind’s 83rd-minute penalty appeared to earn Twente a draw, Sara Pusztai struck six minutes into stoppage time to snatch all three points for the hosts.
This season’s Women’s Champions League features 18 teams, each playing six matches in a new league-phase format. The top four sides advance directly to the quarter-finals, while teams placed fifth to twelfth will contest play-offs for the remaining spots.
