Chicago Family Brings Back Their Taylor Swift Christmas Extravaganza for a Third Year

Will “Christmas House (Taylor’s Version)” Ever Truly Come to an End?

Brian Scott didn’t expect to spend a third winter turning his suburban Chicago home into the now-famous “Christmas House (Taylor’s Version).” After devoting two years — and countless hours — to the dazzling Swift-inspired display, the small business owner assumed the tradition had run its course. But on Nov. 28, while juggling an order for 9,000 Christmas cards at his print shop, Brian and his wife, Amy, found themselves racing against the clock once again. With the neighborhood trolley tour set to roll by at sundown, the Scotts were deep in last-minute chaos, scrambling to perfect yet another jaw-dropping holiday tribute.

What began in 2023 as a lighthearted idea after Amy saw the Eras Tour movie has since grown into an annual spectacle celebrated across Chicago’s western suburbs. Each year, the Scotts — Brian, Amy, and their daughters Becca and Emily — transform their home with larger, more creative Swift-themed décor, earning them local-legend status and drawing fans who eagerly await each new edition.

This year, Brian jokingly dubbed the project “the end of an era” as he stacked six decorated boxes into a pyramid, each featuring scenes inspired by Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” music video. Yet, as neighbors gather and the trolley slows in front of their glowing display, one thing feels certain: in true Swiftie fashion, this magical holiday tradition may be far from over.
