Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has announced that he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence to address urgent medical concerns within his immediate family. Ngelale made the announcement in a memo submitted to the Chief of Staff, detailing his decision to step back temporarily from his official duties.

In his statement, Ngelale expressed the difficulty of making this decision, acknowledging the fast-moving nature of national affairs but stressing that his family’s medical challenges required his full attention. His role as the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Official Presidential Spokesperson, and Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action will be paused during this time. Ngelale is also the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, a key national initiative.

“I look forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit,” he stated, asking for privacy during this period of personal difficulty.

Ngelale’s contributions to President Tinubu’s administration have been significant, particularly in shaping the administration’s communication strategy and spearheading environmental initiatives. His temporary absence marks a brief pause in his public service career, with many anticipating his eventual return once circumstances allow.
