A crane collapsed at a construction site near Bangkok on Friday, resulting in the deaths of three workers and injuries to ten others, according to police.

The accident took place early Friday morning in Samut Sakhon, west of the capital, while the crane was being used to construct a flyover. Three workers were confirmed dead at the scene, and ten others were injured, with some in critical condition, said Detchanakorn Chanthaphum, a police spokesperson from Samut Sakhon.

“We found three bodies,” he stated, noting that they appeared to have died instantly.

Construction accidents are frequent in Thailand, where safety regulations are often overlooked and work is sometimes carried out without proper permits. In March, seven people died when a crane collapsed during work at a factory east of Bangkok.
