Crystal Palace have been denied the chance to compete in the Europa League after losing a legal challenge, paving the way for Nottingham Forest to take their place in UEFA’s second-tier competition.

The dispute centred on eligibility and qualification criteria, but UEFA’s ruling confirmed Forest’s promotion into the tournament, ending Palace’s hopes of a first European campaign in over a decade.

With the decision now final, Nottingham Forest will prepare for Europa League action, while Palace turn their focus fully to their domestic campaign.
